Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Debt Solution ZA collects when you use this website or request an eligibility check, why we need it, who we share it with and the control you keep over it.
1. Who we are
Debt Solution ZA operates debtsolutionz.co.za and assists South African consumers who want to exit debt review lawfully. We act as the responsible party for the personal information you share with us through this website.
You can reach us at hello@debtsolutionz.co.za or 010 123 4567 for any privacy question, request or complaint.
2. Information we collect
We only ask for what we need to assess your matter and contact you about it.
- Contact details you enter in the eligibility form, such as your name, mobile number and email address.
- Answers you give about your debt review status, accounts, income and affordability.
- Documents you later choose to send us, such as identity documents, payslips, statements or a court order, where a formal application is prepared.
- Basic technical information such as device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you viewed, collected through analytics.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to tell you whether a lawful exit from debt review appears open to you, to prepare and lodge an application where you instruct us to, to keep you updated on progress, and to improve how this website performs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lenders or marketers for their own campaigns.
4. Who we share it with
Where it is necessary to progress your matter, we share information with registered debt counselling practitioners and attorneys working on your file, with credit bureaux and the National Credit Regulator, and with the relevant court or tribunal.
We also use service providers for hosting, email, telephony and analytics. They may only process your information on our instruction and must keep it secure.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become active matters are kept for up to twelve months so we can answer follow-up questions. Files linked to a lodged application are kept for five years after completion, in line with the record-keeping expectations that apply to credit and legal work.
6. How we protect it
Information sent through this site travels over an encrypted connection. Access to files is limited to the consultants and practitioners working on your matter, and accounts are removed when someone leaves.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required.
7. Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Email hello@debtsolutionz.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar tools to remember your progress in the eligibility form and to measure which pages and buttons people use. You can block cookies in your browser, although parts of the form may then not work as intended.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
